My name is Korissa Miller and I was born and raised in the state of Colorado. I was raised in a very large family in some of the worst conditions- I consider it a blessing that my family struggled when I was a child because we made it through and we are all the stronger. Considering my childhood and the struggles we faced, I believe where I come from is my biggest motivation for my efforts to be the best caregiver and counselor that I can be.
Next to working with children, my passions lie in being active and art. Before pursuing Child Development, I was an Art History major and this is an aspect that I like to incorporate into my classroom still.
This year, I relocated from Colorado Springs, CO to Seattle, Washington in the hopes of expanding my horizons as a Child Development Specialist. I hope to use the knowledge I have gained through my schooling and work experience to build a network of resources to provide to refugees and struggling youth in this great city.
