In regards to the Psycho-social development of children and the families involvement and influence, I find the most important stage of development to be Adolescent. During the four previous stages, children are encountering many physical and cognitive changes on top of the social and emotional, but as they develop into adolescence the majority of significant development takes place in terms of self-discovery and finding a place in the world that makes them feel significant. With this in mind, I have developed a passion for reaching out to adolescents and youth as well as their families to ensure that they are living to their full potential for success. Below, families will find two resources to aid in their understanding of emotional and social development in adolescents and teenagers as well as how you can be involved.
